Unlike other document review applications, Agilewords lets authors edit and update the documents content directly online. This feature makes it easy to incorporate reviewers’ feedback, correct typos, and grammatical errors on-the-fly. And now, reviewers can track and approve changes made by authors with changetracking and content versioning.

But first things first, let’s see the improved online editing and new track changes in action:

This release brings three major enhancements:

  • Reviewers can easily track changes: content updates generate new messages on the document so everyone can see them; last minute changes or author edits don't go unnoticed!
  • …compare versions: we store a history of the changes made; collaborators can compare the latest version with the previous one via the ‘Compare with previous version’ option on the context-menu; removed text is struck through and red, added text is green.
  • … and receive emails showing the latest changes: if you choose to receive notification messages, you’ll get an email that shows the content modified (see previous point) each time an author makes an edit.

It’s no secret that most Microsoft Word users find change tracking and merging hard to use and time consuming. Agilewords provides a simple web-based alternative for collaborative review.

Please take a few minutes to drop us a note and share your experience with MS Word change tracking. How would you rate our online editing and change tracking system? Anything you would do differently?
